Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP)

IOP is a treatment program recommended for individuals who need more intensive services then traditional outpatient services provide but those who needs would not best be served from a hospital setting. It will also service those who are stuck in their current mode outpatient treatment and do not appear to be getting better. IOP can enable a person to begin their recovery treatment, clarify diagnosis, handle a temporary crisis, expedite the learning of coping skills, provide more immediate relief while in a crisis and assist with additional emotional support. This is done on a part time basis while allowing a person to go home in the evenings for family life or to accommodate a work schedule. IOP allows you to establish a strong treatment foundation without having to stay at a treatment center overnight.

Our IOP program runs 3 day a week from 8:30 am- 1 pm. During this time you will be emerged in group therapy which focuses on skills training, goal setting, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy- DBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-CBT, Process Groups. You will attend 2-3 individual sessions a week, family therapy if needed and a weekly appointment with a staff psychiatrist or specialized nurse practioner. Each individuals is able to obtain a neuropsychological/psychological evaluation to determine strengths and weaknesses, diagnostic clarification, to help with treatment planning and identifying areas of concern, and to provide specific strategies that would be helpful for current and future treatment providers. The treatment team may also connect you with holistic providers, or new innovative treatments such as Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a noninvasive procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain to improve symptoms of depression all of which is available through IPD.
